Minnesota Resort Main Lodge

Ruttger's Historic Main Lodge built in 1921

One of Northern Minnesota's oldest 3 story Lodges is

now a Bed and Breakfast Inn!

See dates below

Main Lodge rooms and suites, open mid-May through mid-September

The Main Lodge is the hub of all resort  activity  at Ruttger's.  As one resort guest put it, " Stepping into the Main Lodge is like stepping back into time." Little has changed in 80+ years. The huge moose heads and 50" muskie have been keeping watch over their lobby for longer than most of us have been alive. The wicker furniture and huge stone fireplace are all original. Guests using their wireless laptops to check stock prices and the world news seem a little out of place. There is a lot of old mixed with new here. The Garden Court Grill Restaurant and the Pirate's Cove Lounge are located in the lodge along with the summer office, outdoor pool, and store.  If you are unsure about events and activities, ask our front desk staff.  Or just relax in our lobby next to the fireplace with a good book and enjoy the view.

We have four different types of accommodations in the Main Lodge.  Lakefront Rooms and Suites and Parkside Rooms and Suites. All rooms and suites are located on either the second floor or third floor. The rooms and suites are small by modern standards but quite comfortable. The lakefront rooms are the nicest. They were extensively remodeled in the '90s and have new bathrooms, new windows, new furniture, carpet and drapes. The main lodge is not serviced by an elevator.

Bed and Breakfast, Northern Minnesota Style

A complimentary self-serve breakfast is available in the Main Lodge dining room for all guests registered at the resort, Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
