Ruttger's is a year round resort, however, many of our units are closed in the winter. If you plan to vacation in the off-season, see the descriptions below.

Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge is the perfect spot for that northern Minnesota vacation. In addition to our cottages and cabins, the resort offers a variety of other accommodations: From luxury lakefront Loft Suites and the romantic Whirlpool Suite in the Cedar Lodge, to economical  lakefront lodge rooms and suites in the Main Lodge. 

The top two floors of the Main Lodge contain 31 rooms and suites. They are perfect for singles, couples, or small families.  The Main Lodge is open during the summer months only.

The Cedar Lodge contains our most modern accommodations.  There are four spacious lakefront rooms and four Lakefront kitchenettes.  Two of the kitchenettes are town-home style units with lofts.   The Cedar Lodge is open year round!

There are 22  rustic Cottages ranging in size from one room to three bedrooms.  The cabins are ideal for families with children looking for that old fashioned Minnesota resort experience. With so many to choose from there is something here for everyone's needs.  The Cottages are open during the summer months only.

We call our 7 larger cabins with complete kitchens Villas.  The Villas range in size from two to four bedrooms. They have easy access to the lake and are ideal for families with children or larger groups. The villas are rented on the housekeeping plan, usually by the week only. Daily rates are available during some time periods. Check our Hot Deals to see if there are daily rates available.  The Villas are open year round!

Many cottages have fireplaces. Firewood is available for a nominal fee. We will deliver it right to your cottage.
